VALLEY OAKS CHAPTER CDS

To apply for the Valley Oaks clinic spot, please send your NAME and a brief paragraph response to this email on why you would like to participate in the Jr/Yr Clinic. If applying, please be prepared to give back to your Valley Oaks Chapter in one of the following ways this year:

1) Get item(s) donated for the 2027 Valley Oaks silent auction

2) Volunteer your time at a Valley Oaks hosted event

3) Volunteer your time at a CDS hosted event

Application deadline: 8/31/2026

The Valley Oaks Chapter Chair will randomly draw a winner and two alternates on a live recorded zoom meeting 9/5/2026 at 7:00 PM. The email with zoom link for the drawing meeting will go out 9/1/26. If the winner is unable to attend the clinic, the spot goes to the first alternate, and so on.

If needed, subsequent drawing selections may be done.

Each applicant must be a CDS and Valley Oaks Chapter member AT THE TIME of the drawing, so if you are interested make sure to renew your Valley Oaks membership for 2026!

Rider Eligibility and Selection – Riders must be members in good standing of CDS and be Juniors or Young Riders under 22 years of age. The same rider cannot ride in two consecutive yearly clinics. The riders must be able to walk/trot/canter with proper diagonals and leads (Training Level minimally). The rider, to be eligible, must have a sound, fit, and in good condition, familiar equine partner, presenting as a “horse/rider team”. They must be actively riding demonstrated by current dressage lessons with their horse for the past 6 months. A borrowed or loaned horse just for the occasion is not accepted. An application must be submitted. Please review the Standing Rules for more information.

Applicants agree to provide a one page write-up on their experience for publication on the Valley Oaks Chapter’s website, social media, etc.

Applicants also agree to write a thank you note/recap to CDS immediately upon completion of the clinic.

Any vacant spots for the clinic will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis from the waiting list by the Clinic Organizer, so reach out to the clinic organizer to be added to the list if you want to join, but are not our chapter winner.
